WTVG ABC News broadcasts a high-resolution digital signal on virtual and VHF channel 13. It has a transmitting tower on Stadium Road in Oregon, Ohio. WTVG is under the authority of Gray Television. The channel has offices on Dorr Street (SR 246) in Toledo. On July 21, 1948, ABC 13 WTVG made its first appearance on television as WTVG Toledo Ohio. It is under the authority of Storer Broadcasting along with WTSP CBS 10 News St Petersburg. At first, the offices were situated at 136 Huron Street in downtown Toledo. This was Toledo’s first television. Moreover, it was also the first television channel in the Storer Broadcasting chain.

In the beginning, the WTVG ABC ran production from all four television networks. Those networks were ABC, NBC, CBS, and DuMont. Nevertheless, it was the main associate of NBC News.
