Due to the contradiction of Hearst TV and Bright House Network on 9th July 2012 WESH NBC news Channel was taken out from the Bright House system. There was a launch of the digital substation of WESH News Channel which is an associate of NBC Weather Plus in 2005. The programming of the digital subchannel shifted towards Local AccuWeather Channel and after that Weather Plus terminated in 2008.
Under the federal authorization, WESH news upgraded to VHF channel 2 from its analog on 12th June 2009. The digital signals of this NBC WESH network were still on VHF frequency 14.
